WebDiapause hormone (DH) is well known for its role in diapause induction in B. mori (see Section 3.12.3.1.1 ), but attempts to induce diapause in other species with DH have failed. Thus, DH appeared to be a neuropeptide with some other primary function that was simply captured by B. mori to serve as a diapause regulator ( Denlinger, 1985 ).
