WebMy understanding is that scaling down from 1440p to 1080p will look worse than native 1080p. The reason is that 1440p is not an integer ratio of 1080p. For example, with a 4K monitor you can downscale to 1080p with very little difference in picture because 4K is 3840x2160 and if you halved the resolution it would be down to 1920x1080.
