He took a red led and connected it to the two wires. He applied a 100 ohm resistor inline and the indicator lit brightly in "stereo" but still glowed when in mono but not as brightly. He then said he placed another 100ohm resistor" across the LED. It worked perfectly. But, I couldn't see clearly.
